Truck with 442 kg of drugs allowed to cross the border/ 4 Hani i Hoti customs

The Police Supervision Agency has arrested 3 police officers and a customs officer at the Hani i Hoti Border Crossing.

Their arrest was made after, in September 2023, they allowed a truck carrying 442,084 kg of narcotics to pass through the border crossing.

It was the Montenegrin border police that detected the narcotics and stopped the truck.

AMP executes 4 arrest warrants for three police officers and a customs officer

Following several months of investigations into the criminal proceedings of 2023, the Police Supervision Agency (Shkodra - Lezhë Region) in cooperation with the Customs Investigation Directorate and the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Shkodra, has executed detention orders for three police officers and a customs officer, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

The detention orders come after in-depth investigations using special methods regarding the event of 17/09/2023, where a truck with Albanian license plates, after completing the exit procedures from the Republic of Albania through the "Hani i Hotit" Border Point, in violation of the law and standard procedures, was detained by the police of the "Bozaj" Border Crossing Point, Montenegro, after a quantity of 442.084 kg of the suspected narcotic substance "Cannabis Sativa" was found in the truck./ CNA
