Cultivated 10,900 cannabis plants/ 25-year-old arrested, declared

As part of Operation "The Wanted", a 25-year-old man, who is internationally wanted, has been arrested in Spain.

In 2023, the First Instance Court of Shkodra imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on AZ.

He is accused of cultivating 10,900 narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants in 2023, in the village of Kir, Shkodra.

The 25-year-old faces charges of cultivating and selling narcotics, criminal group, and committing criminal offenses.

Work continues on his extradition, between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Madrid.

 

Police notification

Intensive cooperation with partners continues to capture internationally wanted citizens. 

As a result, another phase of the international operation "The Wanted" was finalized. 

Within this phase, thanks to the information provided by the Criminal Police Department of the State Police and the real-time exchange through Interpol Tirana with Interpol Madrid, it became possible to locate in Spain, capture and arrest for the purpose of extradition, the internationally wanted citizen AZ, 25 years old, born in Laç.

The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Shkodra, in 2023, assigned this citizen the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants", "Production and sale of narcotics", "Structured criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or structured criminal group".

Citizen AZ is accused of having cultivated 10,900 Cannabis Sativa narcotic plants in 2023, in collaboration with other citizens, in the village of Kir, Pult administrative unit, and near the village of Theth, Shkodër. 

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Madrid, continues to work to finalize the extradition procedures of this citizen to Albania.
