In a criminal network for distributing cocaine/ 6 Albanians sentenced to prison

Six Albanian citizens have been sentenced to prison by British authorities after being found guilty of involvement in a criminal network that dealt with the distribution of cocaine in an area of ??Great Britain.

The six convicted citizens are:

Saimir Neziraj, 32 years old – 8 years in prison

Nertil Halili, 29 years old – 7 years and 10 months

Edmir Beqiri, 37 years old – 3 years and 8 months

Ergys Abdyli, 26 years old – 5 years and 11 months

Ardian Gjeta, 26 years old – 2 years and 1 month

Jorgo Brachousai, 24 years – 16 months

Investigators indicated in a statement that intensive work has been carried out, as cocaine poses a great danger to society.

"Over the past few months we have worked intensively to uncover and dismantle this criminal network. Cocaine remains a major threat to society and this operation has significantly contributed to the protection of our communities. We encourage citizens to report any possible information regarding drug trafficking," the statement said.

British police stressed that the uncovering of this criminal activity came after a six-month investigation codenamed "Operation Young", in collaboration with the Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU). /CNA
