Threatened customers with a gun in a bar and injured the owner/ 28-year-old

A 28-year-old man was arrested today in Kavaja after he entered a bar armed with a gun, threatened customers and injured the owner.

According to police information, citizen MC was arrested after several hours of searching.

It is learned that during the morning, the 28-year-old had entered the bar where he had threatened customers and hit the bar owner with the butt of a pistol, causing minor injuries.

He entered a bar armed, threatened the customers, hit the bar owner with the butt of a pistol and, to escape the police, quickly fled in a vehicle, damaging two other citizens' vehicles.

He was caught after several hours of searching and pursuit by the Police services.

After several hours of searching, the 28-year-old was located and arrested in a hotel in Shkëmbi i Kavajës, by the operational services of the Durrës DVP, in cooperation with the services of the Kavajë Police Commissariat.

While attempting to flee, the 28-year-old threw away the firearm, which was found during the on-site search and seized as material evidence.

The Kavaja Police Commissariat received a report at around 09:40 today that an armed citizen had entered a bar-cafe in neighborhood no. 2, in the city of Kavaja, where he had threatened customers and hit the owner of the bar with the butt of a pistol.

Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police services went to the given address, but the armed citizen, in order to escape the Police, had quickly left in a vehicle and, during his departure, had also damaged a parked vehicle.

Police services were put in pursuit, coordinating actions with the Durrës DVP Operational Forces.

During the pursuit, due to high speed, the armed citizen lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the traffic divider and another vehicle.

He then abandoned the vehicle and left the scene of the accident.

Numerous police services continued to conduct checks in the area.

After several hours of searching, using special investigation methods, the Operational Forces of the Durrës DVP made it possible to locate, capture and arrest citizen MC, alias MC, 28 years old, resident of Kavajë, a person with a criminal record in the field of narcotics and illegal possession of weapons.

During the search of the territory, a pistol firearm was found in a canal and seized, and during the search of the Range Rover vehicle used by the 28-year-old, a magazine with combat ammunition was found.

Preliminary investigations show that the 28-year-old threatened two customers of the bar and hit the bar's owner, citizen SV, 64, in the head with the butt of a pistol, causing minor injuries.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, work continues on the clarification and complete legal documentation of this case. /CNA
