Two brothers have been arrested by the capital's police after threatening a citizen with a firearm and then hiding the weapon.

LM, 27, was arrested after threatening 32-year-old AR with a firearm during a conflict.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old's brother has been arrested on suspicion of hiding the firearm used by his brother.

During the searches, police found and seized a quantity of combat ammunition and the vehicle used.

 

Police notification

The immediate reaction of the Police placed in handcuffs a 27-year-old man, who was carrying a firearm and threatened a citizen, during a conflict for weak motives.

His brother, who hid the firearm immediately after the incident, is also in custody.

A firearm, loaded with ammunition, ready to fire, combat ammunition, and a vehicle were seized.

The services of Police Commissariat No. 6, in cooperation with the Operational Forces of the Tirana DVP and with Commissariat No. 7, after receiving the notification that in the place called "Kthesa e Kamza" a citizen had threatened a 32-year-old man with a firearm, during a conflict between them, organized the work and intervened quickly to capture the suspected perpetrator.

As a result of well-coordinated actions, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

          • LM, 27 years old, for the criminal offenses of “Threat” and “Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition.” This citizen is suspected of having threatened citizen AR, 32 years old, with a firearm during a conflict for weak motives.

          • RM, 25 years old, for the criminal offense of "Supporting the perpetrator of the crime", as he is suspected of having hidden the firearm used by his brother, immediately after the event.

 

During the search of the 27-year-old's apartment, police found the firearm used in the incident, a quantity of combat ammunition and the vehicle, which were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further action./ CNA
