Police take stock for July/ 103 operations, 761 arrested and 52,934 cannabis

The State Police has today shared data from work during the month of July 2025. Specifically, during the month of July:

-103 police operations have been finalized;

-25 operations have been finalized in cooperation with partners, to combat cybercrime, drug trafficking, as well as to capture and extradite internationally wanted citizens;

-761 citizens accused/convicted of various criminal offenses have been arrested;

-52,934 Cannabis plants have been destroyed, and approximately 2.5 kg of cocaine, 6.2 kg of cannabis, hundreds of doses of these substances and quantities of amphetamine have been seized;

-33 firearms, 110 detonator caps, 2 bulletproof vests and silencers have been seized;

-10 criminal incidents have been solved, including: murder, injuries with cutting tools, destruction of property with explosives and intentional arson of property;

-Criminal events in Tirana, Lezha, Vlora, and Saranda that could have been committed by citizens traveling armed have been prevented.

-The escalation of 6 conflicts involving weapons or sharp objects as well as 8 cases of attempted theft have been prevented;

-Property and cash with a total value of approximately 1.6 million euros, derived from crimes, have been seized;

During the 2 phases of Operation "Identity", Tirana District Police discovered cases of forgery of passports and identity cards, to move illegally or to obtain loans;

The Kukës district police cracked down on 2 cases of weapons trafficking from Kosovo and 3 cases of vehicle trafficking;

During special police operational plans for food and dental safety, the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of the DPSS discovered cases of use/trading of expired products, posing a risk to the life and health of citizens;

-16 operations to solve thefts have been finalized;

-10 cases have been cracked in the field of smuggling, 7 cases of transporting immigrants intending to cross the border illegally and 6 cases of illegal organization of gambling;

-134 vessels have been blocked, after their drivers violated the safety perimeter for vacationers and/or were not equipped with the documentation required by law;

-34 cases of invasion of beach spaces have been identified, for which, within the framework of the "Free Beach" operation, around 2,700 sets of umbrellas and sun loungers have been seized;

-38 other cases of occupation of public spaces for profit-making activities have been identified. In cooperation with the services of the Inspectorate of Territorial Protection, the spaces have been vacated and the used objects have been seized;

-12 cases of unauthorized construction have been identified with 16 citizens prosecuted, and other crimes against the environment have been cracked down on, such as: water pollution, damage to riverbeds, and dumping of inert materials or other waste;

-In cooperation with the fire services, the Armed Forces and counterparts, an immediate response was made to 44 cases of arson. Investigations and police work resulted in the arrest/detention/prosecution of 42 perpetrators suspected of intentional or negligent arson;

-72 drivers have been criminally prosecuted because, by double parking, they obstructed the circulation of emergency vehicles and the movement of citizens;

Tirana Police and the police of the coastal districts have carried out daily checks, with noise-measuring technological devices, on entities that generate music. Administrators of entities that were found to be exceeding the level and/or schedule were penalized criminally and/or administratively;

Assistance was provided to 55 citizens who found themselves in difficulty due to terrain, temperatures, disorientation in different areas, or defects in the vehicles they were traveling in. /CNA
