Police operation in Shkodra finalized/ 22-year-old arrested

Police in Shkodra have finalized a police operation, as a result of which a 22-year-old man was arrested.

The operation codenamed "Contingent" was conducted with the aim of identifying cases where citizens with criminal records move armed to commit criminal acts.

The handcuffed citizen was carrying a pistol while being sought for the gunshot wound to a 24-year-old man in December 2024.

The pistol and its ammunition were also seized.

"As a result of the intensification of patrols throughout the territory of the district, and the work of police intelligence, with the aim of ascertaining cases when citizens with criminal records move armed to commit criminal acts, the services of the Shkodra Police Commissariat finalized the police operation codenamed "Contingent".

As part of this operation, citizen E. Sh., 22 years old, resident of Shkodra, was arrested in the "Rus" neighborhood. During the physical search, a firearm, a pistol with ammunition, was found on him.

Further verifications revealed that this citizen was under the security measure "Arrest in prison", as he is accused of having wounded citizen AB with a firearm on 23.12.2024, during a momentary conflict, in the "Skënderbeg" neighborhood.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police said. /CNA
