Accused of corruption/ SPAK concludes investigations, sends Gazmir Preçi to trial

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, after completing the preliminary investigations for criminal proceedings no. 170 of 2024, submitted on 03.02.2025 to the Special Court of First Instance the request for the trial of the defendant:

Gazmir Preçi, state police employee, former head of the Narcotics Sector at the Durrës Police Department, accused of committing the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", provided for by article 259, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code.

At the conclusion of the investigation, it emerged that the defendant Gazmir Preçi requested and received a monetary sum of 10,000 (ten thousand) euros from citizen BT, in exchange for not exercising controls in the premises owned by him, where the "live music" activity was carried out and Albanian and foreign citizens were employed.

The investigations of this proceeding were conducted in cooperation with the Police Supervision Agency./ CNA
