The State Police is searching for citizen Daut Laze, who escaped today from Shenkoll prison in Lezha.

Institutions have offered a reward of 10,000 euros for people who provide information about the 49-year-old's whereabouts.

"Immediately after the announcement from the General Directorate of Prisons that in the early hours of this morning, during the change of shifts and the conduct of the appeal at the Special Medical Institution, Lezhë, the absence of the patient, citizen Daut Laze, 49 years old, was ascertained, the State Police services have organized the work and are carrying out intensive checks to find him.

We clarify that citizen Daut Laze was arrested in 2021, for the criminal offense of "Domestic Violence", and in 2024, the Tirana Court assigned him the measure "Compulsory treatment in a medical institution".

The 49-year-old poses a social danger, therefore we ask for the help of citizens to immediately notify the State Police of any information regarding his whereabouts.

In cooperation with the General Directorate of Prisons, work continues to locate and capture the 49-year-old.

"The State Police has set a reward of 10,000 euros for any valuable information on the whereabouts of this citizen. Citizens can report it to the State Police toll-free number 112 and to the number 068 200 29 61, set by the General Directorate of Prisons," the police announced.
