A wedding in Tirana turned into an adventure after the participants in the ceremony blocked the Grand Ring Road, causing chaos and traffic. After administering the camera footage, two of the wedding guests were prosecuted and another was declared wanted.

The police have also seized the vehicles used, which turned out to have been rented.

Verifications and controls continue to identify and bring to criminal responsibility 4 other citizens implicated in this case.

The wedding couple are accused of "Obstructing the movement of vehicles."

Police Announcement:

"They obstructed traffic on the Grand Ring Road after stopping vehicles destined for a wedding ceremony, 2 citizens are being prosecuted and work is underway to escort the third person."

Investigations are ongoing to capture and identify the drivers of 4 other vehicles involved in this case.

Also, work is underway to seize vehicles, which, from verifications so far, have been found to be rented.

The services of the Traffic Police Commissariat, as a result of the administration of several film footage published on 24.08.2025, which showed several vehicles decorated for wedding ceremonies, stopped on the Grand Ring Road, which had obstructed traffic on this axis, have enabled the identification of some of the citizens implicated in this illegality.

Specifically, 3 citizens were identified, ED, 36 years old and DM, 22 years old, for whom criminal proceedings were initiated while at large, and Xh. A., 28 years old, who was declared wanted. Efforts are underway to capture him.

Further, verifications and controls continue to identify and bring to criminal responsibility 4 other citizens implicated in this case, as well as to locate and seize the used vehicles.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offense of "Obstructing the movement of means of transport".

The State Police once again appeals to all citizens to respect traffic rules and not impede the normal movement of road users, as they will face the penalties provided for by the Criminal Code."/ CNA
