8 theft cases and 4 attempts/ 3 people arrested in Tirana

A criminal group accused of 12 thefts or attempted thefts in the territory of the Tirana District is being targeted.

During the operation codenamed 'Map', citizens D. Ç., 31 years old, BS, 56 years old, and E. Gj., 33 years old, were arrested.

The vehicle in which the citizens went to the residences/entities where they would steal, as well as clothing used during the commission of the crimes, was also seized.

Announcement:

As a result of intensive investigative work, carried out with the aim of identifying and capturing several citizens who, organized as a group, were suspected of having committed dozens of thefts in the district, the services of Police Commissariat No. 6 finalized the operation codenamed "Map".

As part of the operation, citizens D. Ç., 31 years old, BS, 56 years old, and E. Gj., 33 years old, all three residents of Elbasan, were arrested.

As a result of investigative actions, the structures of Police Commissariat No. 6 have uncovered the following cases with 3 arrested citizens as suspected perpetrators:

-on 04.12.2025, they stole a large amount of money from the business of citizen GS, on "7 Nëntori" street;

-on 07.12.2025, they stole a large amount of money from the business of citizen OV, on the "Tirana-Durrës" highway;

-on 24.12.2025, they stole a large amount of money and valuables from the apartment of citizen EM, on "Migjeni" Boulevard;

-on 08.02.2026, they stole a large amount of money and valuables from the apartment of citizen AB, on "Ribez" street;

-on 10.02.2026, they stole a large amount of money from a business on Prushi Street;

-on 14.02.2026, they attempted to rob the company of citizen AB, on Prushi Street;

-on 22.02.2026, they attempted to rob the company of citizen EJ, in the village of Vaqarr;

-on 25.02.2026, they attempted to rob the company of citizen EK, in the village of Fushë Mëzez;

-on 25.02.2026, they attempted to rob the company of citizen EO, in the village of Fushë-Mëzez.

•Meanwhile, in cooperation with the services of Police Commissariat No. 7, 3 attempted thefts, committed by 3 citizens, on 15.02.2026, in 3 companies in the village of Marikaj, have been uncovered.

Work continues to uncover other thefts that these citizens may have committed.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action./ CNA
