He gained up to 40 thousand euros by blackmailing with intimate photos/ The

Korça Police have finalized an operation to crack down on a blackmail case after 4 months.

As a result, a 47-year-old man was arrested, who had gained 4,000 euros by blackmailing a Greek citizen through intimate photos.

Blackmail committed over a 3-year period.

It is also suspected that this citizen has threatened other Greek citizens, obtaining sums of up to 40 thousand euros.

The police operation codenamed "Blackmail" is being finalized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section. The operation is the result of 4 months of investigations using proactive methods.  

The 47-year-old man was arrested after he took 4,000 euros from a Greek citizen, blackmailing him for about 3 years, saying he would publish intimate conversations and photos. 

Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section of the Korça Police Department, as a result of investigations conducted over a 4-month period, with special methods, under the direction of the Prosecution, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Blackmail".

As part of the operation, citizen KJ, 47 years old, resident of Korça, was arrested for the criminal offenses of "Coercion by threat or violence for the release of property" and "Fraud".

The investigation suspects that citizen KJ, over a period of about 3 years, through blackmail for the publication of intimate conversations and photos, has benefited from around 4,000 euros from a Greek citizen. Citizen KJ is also suspected of having benefited from other Greek citizens, using the same mechanism, with considerable sums of money, ranging from 30,000 - 40,000 euros. 

Investigations are ongoing to identify and hold legally accountable other citizens involved in this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action.
