Internationally wanted for drug trafficking/ Turkish man arrested in Morina

A Turkish citizen declared internationally wanted has been arrested at Morina customs.

31-year-old VB has been arrested, and the Vienna Court has imposed the security measure "Arrest with imprisonment", accused of producing and selling narcotics.

His arrest was made with the aim of his extradition to Austria.

 

 

Police notification

 

Internationally wanted by Austrian authorities for the production and sale of narcotics, the 31-year-old Turkish man was arrested by the Morina Border Police at the entrance to the Republic of Albania.

As a result of selective controls and entry/exit checks, with the objective of cracking down on illegalities at the border, as well as detaining wanted citizens who attempt to move illegally to avoid criminal liability, the Morina Border Police services, in cooperation with the Kukes Border Police Department services, apprehended at the entrance to the Republic of Albania and arrested with the aim of extradition the Turkish citizen:

VB, 31 years old, resident of Istanbul.

From the verifications carried out and from the information exchanged with Interpol Tirana, it resulted that this citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Vienna Court imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics".

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with counterparts in Austria, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of the 31-year-old.
