The operation to find citizen IK, 42 years old, suspected of being thrown into the Osum River Canyons, continues with intensive searches.

Meanwhile, during the operation, a volunteer searcher, 22-year-old Xh. K., was stranded after the raft he was traveling in capsized.

He had volunteered to help search for the 42-year-old's body.

The rescue operation, led by the Berat Police Directorate and supported by RENEA, climbers, the Army and the emergency service, was able to extract the 22-year-old from the difficult terrain after several hours of intervention.

He is in good health, while the search for the 42-year-old continues.

The operation to find the 42-year-old continues, with intensive searches along the Osum River.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old man who was trapped in the Osumi Canyons, who had volunteered to find the body of citizen IK, was rescued after a few hours.

During the operation to find the body of citizen IK, 42 years old, who is suspected of being dumped in the Osum River Canyons, a volunteer searcher engaged in assisting the authorities was trapped in the canyon area.

At around 17:00 on 21.02.2026, citizen Xh. K., 22 years old, who had voluntarily joined the search group to find the 42-year-old, was stranded after the dinghy he was traveling in capsized.

The rescue operation was immediately organized, coordinated by the Berat Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with RENEA forces, climbers of the Albanian Mountain Search and Rescue Federation, the Army Forces, the Skrapar Hospital Emergency Service, as well as with the support of the Çorovodë community.

After several hours of intervention in very difficult terrain, at 04:45 in the morning on 22.02.2026, the volunteer searcher was pulled from the rock where he had remained isolated and is in good health.
