Prison sentence to begin/Citizen dies at Durres Hospital

This Friday afternoon, a 63-year-old man lost his life at Durrës Hospital.

Police sources indicate that the person in question is citizen MG, a resident of Shijak.

This citizen was being escorted to the security premises of the Durrës Police Station, after he had been sentenced to 18 days in prison and was expected to be transferred to serve his sentence at the Lushnje Prison.

At around 15:04, he showed health concerns and was immediately transported by the Police services to Durres Hospital for medical assistance, where, despite the assistance provided by medical personnel, he died in the intensive care unit.

The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues its actions to fully clarify the circumstances. /CNA
