An environment adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants, with equipment supplied by illegal electricity connections, has been discovered inside a tunnel in Shkodra.

As part of the "Neonët 9" operation, the police have arrested 3 people, the two suspected perpetrators of drug cultivation and an OSHEE employee. The police have also prosecuted 3 other employees for abuse of office.

Meanwhile, as part of the operation, 670 suspected cannabis seedlings and plants and 254 various electrical devices used for their cultivation were seized.

Shkodër/The crackdown on the criminal activity of cultivating narcotic plants in closed environments continues.

The police operation codenamed "Neonët 9" is finalized. The number of cases of this criminal activity, targeted within the framework of the "Neonët" operation, reaches 14.

An environment (tunnel) adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants, with equipment supplied by illegal electricity connections, was discovered in the "10 Korriku" neighborhood.

The 2 suspected perpetrators of this criminal activity were caught red-handed in this environment and arrested.

1 OSHEE employee is arrested and 3 others are criminally prosecuted for abuse of office.

670 suspected cannabis seedlings and plants and 254 various electrical devices used for their cultivation were seized.

Following the plan of measures to identify and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants in closed environments, based also on information obtained in operational ways, the specialized structures of the Shkodra Police Department, in cooperation with the services of the Shkodra Police Commissariat, supported by the services of the "Eagle" Special Force, have exercised intensive controls in closed environments, with the aim of ascertaining and cracking down on cases of cultivation of narcotic plants using lamps, their drying and processing for sale.

As a result, the police operation codenamed "Neonët 9" was organized and finalized.

During the operation, the Police services discovered an environment (tunnel) in the yard of an apartment rented by citizen AP, in the "10 Korriku" neighborhood, which was adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants, with equipment that was supplied with illegal electricity connections.

From the checks in this environment, the following were found and seized as material evidence: 555 seedlings and 115 suspected narcotic cannabis plants, 126 lamps, 80 inventory devices, 31 LED panels and 17 air filters, which served for the cultivation and drying of seedlings and narcotic plants.

Following the actions in the case, citizens AP, 35 years old, resident of Shkodra, and KH, 30 years old, resident of the village of Degë, Tropojë, were arrested in flagrante delicto, who were caught in the tunnel premises.

Also, citizen DS, 40 years old, resident of Shkodra, was arrested, and an investigation was launched against citizens DP, 32 years old, MH, 35 years old, and FV, 23 years old, employees of OSHEE, for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", committed in collaboration.

Work continues to fully document this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were passed on to the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
