Wanted by Greece for 13 years for murder/ Albanian arrested at Italian airport

A 47-year-old Albanian man who had been internationally wanted for 13 years has been arrested in Italy. He was handcuffed as soon as he landed at Rimini Fellini Airport from a plane coming from Tirana.

According to Italian media reports, the Albanian was wanted by Greek judicial authorities for a murder and attempted murder committed in 2012. After the murder of one of his compatriots and the serious injury of another, the 47-year-old was declared wanted, while suspicions were that he was hiding in Greece or Albania.  

Thanks to the investigative efforts of the Rimini border police, he was detained as soon as he passed the document check. After the arrest, he was transferred to the Rimini prison, awaiting a hearing at the Bologna Court of Appeal, where his extradition to Greece will be considered. /CNA
