Vice President JD Vance said the US is considering selling Tomahawk missiles to European countries to support Ukraine.
After meeting with President Donald Trump during the United Nations General Assembly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked the US to sell Tomahawk missiles to European nations, who would then send them to Ukraine.
Vance said on Fox News Sunday that Trump would make the final decision on whether to allow the deal.
"We are certainly considering a number of requests from the Europeans," Vance added.
Tomahawk missiles have a range of 2,500 km.
Although Trump has in the past denied Ukraine's demands for the use of long-range missiles, the American leader has now become increasingly frustrated by Russian President Vladimir Putin's refusal to reach a peace agreement.
Vance said during the interview that Russia has made few territorial advances recently.
"We have been actively seeking peace since the beginning of our administration, but the Russians need to wake up and accept reality. Many people are dying," he said./ CNA
