A cocaine processing laboratory is discovered in Belgium/ Six Albanians are

The Belgian police arrested six Albanians this Monday morning for trafficking narcotics through the port of Antwerp and then distributing them throughout Europe.

According to foreign media, the investigation into the criminal network began in 2023, after the police were informed about a group of Albanians who were going to import cocaine from a building on Somersstraat through the port of Antwerp.

Then it became possible for the Police to find a laboratory where the cocaine was packaged and made ready to be sold on the European markets.

"With the instructions of the investigating judge, 5 checks were carried out in Antwerp, Berchem and Borgerhout. During the search in Somersstraat, near the Central Station, chemicals, a press, logos and packaging material were found. Six people between the ages of 22 and 57 were brought before the investigating judge after questioning. All six were arrested and sent to prison,"  said Antwerp public prosecutor's spokesman Kristof Aerts, Belgian media reported.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Court on Tuesday. /CNA
