VIDEO/ Collection of luxury cars in al-Assad's garage worth 6.5 million

Recent events in Syria have been in the spotlight for the past few days following the overthrow of dictator Bashar al-Assad by a group of rebels.

After the rebels overthrew al-Assad's government, they took refuge inside the presidential palace in Damascus, where they looted and burned his property.

In the middle of this political chaos, a video is making the rounds on the network which shows the rich collection of luxury cars of the deposed Syrian president.

In the garage of the presidential palace in Damascus, cars such as Rolls-Royce Phantom, Lamborghini, Bentley, Aston Martin DB7, several Ferraris including F50, F430 and 355 F1 GTS, several BMWs, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Audi R8 have been found.

More than 40 luxury vehicles have been filmed in this large warehouse in western Damascus, north of the Al-Mazzeh neighborhood, where the biggest surprise is the presence of Toyota Land Cruisers and a Hilux.

Their total value is estimated at 6.5 million euros and this is only about what has come to light, as Assad's wealth is much larger. However, Bashar al-Assad's most expensive car is so far the Ferrari F50, whose value is around 3 million euros.

Another video shot by people walking through the garage shows the same collection of cars, and it's noticeable that at least one of the vehicles has Damascus license plates.
