The report on the bearing capacity of the bridge over the Ibër River in Mitrovica is expected to be published on Tuesday, after the test with heavily loaded trucks was done last week.

This mission considers that any action regarding the opening of the bridge over the Iber River should be taken within the dialogue in Brussels.

"Our position on this issue has been clear, transparent and consistent throughout. Any decision regarding the opening of the main bridge over the Iber River should be made within the framework of the EU-mediated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which we fully support. "We will never speculate on any hypothetical scenario," the response states.

The opening of the bridge has been opposed by the USA and the EU, calling it a unilateral decision of the Government. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that he expects the opening of the main bridge over the Iber River in Kosovo on August 14 or 15, as well as the installation of new Serbian leaders in this country by foreign agencies.

The bridge is currently open to pedestrians, but not to cars.
