Ukraine shoots down four drones/ Leaves several Russian villages without power

Ukraine's air defense shot down four Russian drones over the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions on Friday morning, the Ukrainian military said.

It did not say how many drones Russia used to attack Ukrainian territory during Friday's attacks.

Meanwhile, Roman Starovoit, the governor of Russia's border region of Kursk, said four villages in his region were left without electricity on Friday as a result of Ukrainian drone strikes.

Earlier, Russia's Defense Ministry said its air defenses had shot down four Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod and Nizhny Novogorod regions. Ukraine has not commented on the Russian claims.

A day earlier, Ukraine's General Staff said 19 Russian soldiers were killed and 12 others wounded when a group of Russian soldiers were attacked by a rocket in the town of Olenivka, in the Russian-held part of the Donetsk region.

Among those killed was a deputy commander of a Russian army unit, while the commander of the unit was among the wounded, according to the Ukrainian Headquarters./ REL
