Turkey has blocked the access of foreign media "Deutsche Welle" and "Voice of America". As of Thursday, the two websites are not accessible in Turkey.

The Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK) said both media outlets did not comply with the "law" and did not apply for a license within the required period.

RTUK's statement said the two outlets needed a broadcasting license in February because they had "programme" sections.
