Crans-Montana tragedy/ Resort owners arrested

The owner of the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana where 40 people died in a horrific fire on New Year's Eve has been arrested.

Husband and wife Jacques Moretti, 49, and his wife Jessica, 40, are being investigated for several crimes related to the deadly blaze, including manslaughter.

Police say Jacques, who is suspected of being a former "prosecutor," was handcuffed due to a "flight risk," Swiss newspaper 24 Heures reported.

This comes as Switzerland marks a national day of mourning for dozens of teenagers killed when a fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana.

Dozens of victims, some as young as 14, lost their lives after a fire swept through a nightclub at a ski resort.

Jacques was detained by Swiss police after a hearing where he and his wife faced questions from authorities.
