Meeting with Trump/Zelensky: It was essential, focus on ceasefire and security of Ukrainians

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described his meeting with US President Donald Trump as "fundamental" shortly after the end of their conversation on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in The Hague.

Zelensky said he discussed with the US president how a ceasefire and genuine peace can be achieved, also emphasizing the need to protect the Ukrainian people.

In a post on the 'X' platform, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared his comments after the meeting.

"We covered all the really important issues. Thank you Mr. President, thank you to the United States. We discussed how to achieve a ceasefire and real peace. We talked about how to protect our people. We appreciate your attention and willingness to help bring peace closer. Details will follow," Zelensky wrote./CNA
