Meeting with Trump/Zelensky: Ready for trilateral meeting to end the war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that he is open to meeting with Trump and Putin in order to end the war.

"We are ready for a trilateral meeting," Zelensky said.

Asked what guarantees Zelensky would need from Trump to agree to a deal, he said: "everything."

"It includes two parts, with weapons and people and training issues, and intelligence. The second would depend on the big countries, on the United States, on many of our friends," the Ukrainian president said.

Before the reporter's questions began, Zelensky enthusiastically thanked Trump for his personal efforts to stop the killings and stop the wars.

With him is a letter he had brought for Melania Trump, thanking her for a letter he sent to Putin on Friday raising the plight of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.

This time Zelensky was dressed in a military suit, although still without a tie, after being reprimanded last time for not wearing formal attire. Zelensky has previously said he would not wear a suit and tie while the war was ongoing. /CNA
