The presidents of the US and Ukraine met this Monday at the White House.

In his opening remarks, Trump called today's meeting "very important" and said he believes progress is being made. He also said there is a possibility that something will come out of his meeting with Putin.

During the briefing, Trump said there was probably no need for a ceasefire, in response to a question about whether he would actually impose severe consequences on Russia, as he promised last week.

"If you look at the six agreements I've made this year, they were all on war, I didn't make any ceasefires," Trump said.

Trump stated that the war continues to create great difficulties for Ukraine and repeated the claim that his predecessor Joe Biden was to blame for Russia's invasion.

"This is not my fight, this is Joe Biden's fight. He's the one who had a lot to do with what happened, and we want to end it. And we want it to end for everyone. The people of Ukraine have suffered tremendously," Trump said.
