The Ukrainian president said after this Sunday's meeting with European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen in Brussels that Ukraine shared positions on transatlantic unity, peace efforts, territorial issues and security guarantees, including Ukraine's accession to the EU.

Through a post on the 'X' platform, Zelensky emphasizes that it is essential that Europe remains as united as it was in 2022, referring to the period before the launch of the Russian invasion.

"Today in Brussels, I outlined our positions on transatlantic unity, peace efforts, territorial issues and security guarantees, including Ukraine's accession to the EU. It is essential that Europe remains as united as it was in 2022. This strong unity is essential to achieving real peace," Zelensky wrote.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that Russia's strategy remains "anti-European" and the continent must stand united in any further negotiations to stop Moscow's all-out war in Ukraine.

The meeting between the two comes as a number of European leaders announced they will join his talks with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Monday. /CNA
