Pope Francis' passing/ Speaker of Parliament's message of condolence

The Speaker of Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, has shared a message of condolence on the passing of Pope Francis.

In her message, Spiropali writes that Albania and Albanians had a special place in the heart of the Holy Father.

She also recalled Pope Francis' visit to Albania in 2014.

" On the morning of Angel Monday, Pope Francis' earthly journey ended.

The life of this disciple of Jesus Christ was dedicated to the service of God, the Church, believers, people, coexistence and social justice. The Holy Father was a powerful defender of the poorest, the weakest and the most marginalized, to whom he dedicated his entire life and love.

Albania and Albanians had a special place in the great heart of Pope Francis, which he also showed during his visit to our country, on September 21, 2014, his first visit to a European country since the beginning of his Papacy.
