Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a status on social networks, expressed his condolences on the passing of Pope Francis. Rama called the Holy Father a great and unforgettable friend of Albania.

"Farewell, Holy Father, great and unforgettable friend of Albania," Rama writes.

 

Prime Minister Edi Rama, during a meeting with the women of Kavaja, received the news that Pope Francis had passed away. Rama said that he had a personal relationship with the Holy Father, and revealed that he sent him messages from time to time.

During his speech, the Prime Minister recalled the Holy Father's visit to Albania in 2014 and said that he was a Pope unlike any other. Rama invited those present to observe a minute of silence in honor of Pope Francis.
