USA appeals to Putin / "Accept reality, withdraw troops from Ukraine"

The United States is calling on Russian President Vladimir Putin to accept reality and withdraw troops from Ukraine after the Russian leader finally called the conflict a "war".

Since Putin ordered the invasion in February, Russia has officially referred to the war as a "special military operation" and passed laws sanctioning the use of the word war.

But during a conference on Thursday, Putin used the word "war", which he said he hopes will end as soon as possible.
