The US military has used nearly 50% of its Patriot missile arsenal, according to a new report from the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

The US expert group considers the stockpile of seven types of weapons to be sufficient to continue this war indefinitely. However, it notes that the risk of shortages would arise if another war were needed, especially if it were against a rival power like China.

According to experts in the world's leading group of national security experts, the United States had in its reserves, before the start of the war against Iran on February 28, 2,330 interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense system.

They estimate that the US has already used between 1,060 and 1,430 interceptor missiles in the war against Iran. It is noted that the cost of such a missile is 3.9 million US dollars and the delivery time from the manufacturer to replenish stocks is 42 months./CNA
