Trump makes decision/Extends ceasefire with Iran

President Donald Trump has declared that he will extend the ceasefire with Iran, at the request of Pakistan, and will continue the blockade of Iranian ports.

Through a post on social media, Trump writes that at the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, he has decided to extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is presented and discussions are concluded, one way or another.

"Based on the fact that the Iranian government is deeply divided, not unexpectedly, and at the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, we have been asked to postpone our attack on Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal. Accordingly, I have directed our military to continue the blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready, and for that reason I will extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is presented and the discussions are concluded, one way or another," Trump said./ CNA
