Hundreds of fines within a day for traffic violations/ What's happening in

Hundreds of fines were imposed yesterday alone in Skopje and the rest of North Macedonia. On Tuesday alone, between 09:30 and 18:30, reinforced traffic controls were carried out in areas of the city of Skopje, during which 262 vehicles were fined.

According to data published by the Ministry of Interior in the Republic of North Macedonia, 814 traffic violations were registered across the country yesterday, 268 for illegal parking.

Police officers continued with intensive checks, during which a total of 814 fines were issued, respectively, measures were taken based on the Law on Road Traffic Safety (LRTS) and the Law on Vehicles (LV). 

From an analytical perspective, there are no changes in the reasons for the sanctions imposed, so the largest number of violations issued, 268, are related to illegal parking and 171 are related to speeding. 

Based on Article 225 (LBSP) - 48 people were sanctioned for not having a driver's license, 43 misdemeanors for not using a seat belt and 27 misdemeanors were recorded for using a mobile phone while driving.

As part of the checks, 16 cases of running red lights were identified, followed by eight drivers driving under the influence of alcohol, and misdemeanor fines were issued to 27 pedestrians and eight cyclists.   

In accordance with the Law on Vehicles, 15 unregistered vehicles were identified, as well as five vehicles with technical defects./CNA
