Putin offers Moscow as meeting place, Zelensky rejects proposal

During a phone call with Donald Trump, Russian leader Vladimir Putin proposed a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Moscow.

According to details provided to foreign media by sources who chose to remain anonymous, it is learned that Putin mentioned Moscow during this call. The Ukrainian president, who was at the White House at the time along with European leaders, answered 'no'.

A senior Trump administration official said Putin had told Trump he wanted to meet with Zelensky bilaterally.

It is not clear where the two leaders will meet.

French President Emmanuel Macron suggested Geneva as a possible location, an idea that was quickly supported by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
