New violent protests in France

France's security forces clashed with protesters again on Saturday after they tried to stop the construction of a reservoir for the agricultural industry in the southwest of the country.

Violent scenes between protesters and law enforcement in Saite-Soline, western France, followed days of violent nationwide protests over pension reform by French President Emmanuel Macron.

At least 6,000 people took part in the March 25 protest, local authorities said, while organizers said there were about 25,000 demonstrators.

Mbi 3.000 pjesëtarë të forcave të sigurisë u dislokuan dhe autoritetet thanë se “të paktën 1.000” protestues të dhunshëm, përfshirë edhe disa nga Italia, ishin pjesëmarrës në protestë.

Vendi ku po ndërtohet rezervuari i ujit u rrethua nga policia, por përleshjet nisën shumë shpejt midis policisë dhe protestuesve.

Protestuesit hodhën gjësende të forta dhe eksplozivë të improvizuar drejt policisë, ndërkaq forcat e rendit u përgjigjën me gaz lotsjellës dhe topa uji.

Policia tha se ka arrestuar 11 persona, të cilëve iu gjetën armë të ftohta, por edhe mjete shpërthyese.
