British Ministry: Russian forces have gone on the defensive

The British Ministry of Defense announced that Russia is carrying out operations of a defensive nature since, since January of this year, it has failed to make progress in efforts for a broad offensive, in the attack on Ukraine.

Ukrainian troops continue the resistance in Ukraine and have not withdrawn. However, some Western experts say this could be a dangerous tactic because the Ukrainians need to maintain forces to respond to a possible Russian offensive.

However, according to the intelligence services of the British ministry, the long fighting in Bakhmut has significantly thinned the ranks of the Russian forces.

Meanwhile, the latest United Nations report on the human rights situation in Ukraine confirmed the death of thousands of civilians as a result of Russia's aggression.

The report also highlights the disappearances, torture and rape of civilians, mainly in the regions controlled by Russia.

Russia has denied committing atrocities in what it calls a special military operation.
