Protest in the photo - The moment when the Swedish embassy in Baghdad is attacked for burning the Koran

A protest with tensions and clashes took place today at the Swedish embassy in Baghdad, Iraq.

The protest came as a result of the incident recorded yesterday, on the day of Kurban Bayram, in front of the central mosque of Stockholm, where a citizen burned a copy of the holy book of the Koran.

Citizens led by powerful Iraqi cleric Muqtada al-Sadr breach Swedish embassy perimeter 

The AFP news agency reported that the protesters stayed inside the embassy courtyard for about 15 minutes and left with the intervention of local security forces.

Tensions have eased as Muqtada al-Sadr called for the expulsion of the Swedish ambassador to Baghdad and urged authorities to strip the Iraqi nationality of Salean Momika, the person who burned the Koran.
