The burning of the Koran by two men in Sweden after a Swedish court approved the act has not been well received by the Muslim world.

As he congratulated Muslims on Eid al-Adha, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denounced the burning of the Koran in Sweden the day before.

Erdogan said that those who committed the heinous act and "those who allow it under the guise of freedom of thought, those who turn a blind eye to this abomination" will not achieve their goals.
