NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg addressed reporters in the final hours of the alliance's summit in Madrid.

He said that during the meeting of NATO leaders important decisions were made, with agreements to invite Finland and Sweden to join the alliance.

Stoltenberg also called the food crisis caused by the war severe, while many countries dependent on Ukraine for wheat imports. He added that Russia continues to seek political, military and economic benefits.

Among other things, the NATO Secretary General said that NATO allies spent time during the Madrid summit to discuss efforts to mitigate the growing food crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.

"The alliance is working to get wheat from Ukraine by land and sea," he said.

Stoltenberg declared that NATO is facing the challenge resolutely, to maintain peace.

The NATO chief also added that Putin should withdraw his forces and stop attacking a democratic state./ CNA.al
