Navalny's ally in Lithuania is attacked

A longtime ally of late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Leonid Volkov has been attacked outside his home in Lithuania.

Volkov was attacked with a hammer and tear gas while in his car in Vilnius on Tuesday night, said Navalny's spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh. The author has not been identified, as well as the motive of the event.

Lithuanian police have been informed of the attack and are investigating, according to Reuters news agency.

Another member of Navalny's team, Ivan Zhdanov, posted pictures on social media of Mr. Volkov with the bloody leg.
