It did not condemn Iran's attack/ Israel declares the UN secretary

The Foreign Minister of Israel has announced that the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, has been stopped from entering his country, since he has not condemned Iran's missile attack.

Iran fired more than 180 missiles at Israel on Tuesday, and Guterres issued a brief statement the same day, referring only to "recent attacks in the Middle East" and condemning "the continued escalation of the conflict."

Earlier on Tuesday, Israel sent troops into southern Lebanon.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said the fact that Guterres did not mention Iran makes him an undesirable person in Israel.

"Anyone who cannot unequivocally condemn Iran's heinous attack against Israel, as almost all countries in the world have done, does not deserve to set foot on Israeli soil ," Katz said.

"Israel will continue to protect its citizens and preserve its national dignity, with or without Antonio Guterres ," he added.

Most of Iran's missiles were intercepted in midair, but some penetrated missile defenses. However, no casualties were reported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran made a "big mistake" with the missile attack against Israel and vowed to retaliate.
