"In the US or in another country"/ Trump: Iran's enriched uranium will be destroyed

US President Donald Trump has spoken about his plans to destroy Iran's enriched uranium.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he would either be transported to the United States, treated there, or taken to another country.

"The enriched uranium will either be immediately delivered to the United States for repatriation and destruction, or, preferably, in cooperation and coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be destroyed on site or, at another acceptable location, with the Atomic Energy Commission, or its equivalent, witnessing this process and event,"  Trump's post on Truth Social said.

Trump told reporters in the Oval Office last week that the United States would not back down from recovering Iran's enriched uranium.

"We'll probably destroy it after we get it, but we're not going to let them have it," Trump said Thursday.

The White House has repeatedly insisted that enriched uranium must be destroyed before Iran sees financial benefits from the proposed deal to end the war. /CNA
