Bad weather hits Genoa/ Extensive material damage caused

Bad weather has hit the wider Genoa area in Italy today, causing material damage. Due to continuous rainfall, the wall of a public park collapsed, damaging cars parked nearby. 

The strong wind has uprooted trees, while also destroying the roof of the municipal waste collection company. Fortunately, no one was injured. A large number of fire, police and Civil Protection teams have been mobilized to deal with the situation.

In many central areas of Genoa, single-storey houses and overpasses have been flooded, while traffic has been disrupted on the road connecting Italy with France. According to forecasts, the wave of bad weather will extend, in the coming hours, to other areas of northern Italy, as well as Tuscany. /CNA
