The Minister of Health in Kosovo, Arben Vitia, said on Saturday that the condition of those poisoned the day before in the Municipality of Malisheva is stable.
On Friday, a case of poisoning was reported in this municipality, but the exact cause of the illness of 68 citizens is still unknown.
Minister Vitia said that 11 citizens are lying in the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) and nine others are lying in the General Hospital of Prizren.
"Inspectors and law enforcement bodies are on the ground and have received all the data related to the case and the source and cause of the poisoning", Vitia said through a post on Facebook.
The Director of Health in the Municipality of Malisheva, Hajdin Berisha, told Radio Evropa e Lire on Friday that the poisoning is suspected to have been caused by food "in a business in Malisheva".
The Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV) in Kosovo is responsible for protecting the life and health of citizens, through food safety, which Kosovo aims to have according to European Union standards./ REL
