Thousands of Game of Thrones items up for auction, prices from $500 to $20,000

After eight seasons of "Game of Thrones", more than 2,000 items from this popular series of the American television network HBO will be auctioned, with prices ranging from 500 to 20 thousand dollars.

Organized by Heritage auction house, items on display will include legendary Jamie Lannister gear as well as White Walkers prosthetics, as well as capes, coats and leather sets worn by Emilia Clarke or Kit Harington's infamous sword.

Highlighting the show's popularity five years after it went off the air, HBO vice president Jay Rowe said the upcoming auction will be an opportunity for its loyal viewers to "seize a piece of history."

"We all grew up with 'Game of Thrones'. It influenced the lives of each of us and our culture," he concluded in an interview for an American agency.

The auction will be held from October 10 to 12 in Dallas, and from September 17 to October 4 the items will be available for viewing at the Heritage auction house in New York and London./CNA
