The Police of Kosovo announced on Wednesday evening that it has received reports from officials of the Democratic League of Kosovo about the existence of plans for assassinations against senior officials of this party.

"The Kosovo Police, in this case the competent department, has taken all the necessary police actions related to the case/threat in question. All further police actions will be undertaken in cooperation and coordination with the justice authorities", says a police announcement, but without any details.

The local media said that in addition to the chairman of the LDK, the threats were directed against former Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and MPs Arben Gashi and Armend Zemaj.

The Democratic League of Kosovo is the oldest political entity in Kosovo, currently in opposition./VOA
