Britain's new Conservative leader promises "bitter truths"

Kemi Badenoch has said that she will tell "bitter truths" both to the state and to her party, as she has started work as leader of the Conservative Party in Great Britain.

In his first appearance before the media, Badenoch told the British broadcaster, BBC, that Britain is getting poorer and losing the race with other countries.

During the interview, she said that "we must analyze how we can reorganize our economy to be ready for the future, and not only for what we have done so far".

"I think that at this point we have a challenge, but I am very optimistic about what we can do."

Within days, she is expected to make public the names of her cabinet within the party, which is currently in opposition.

Badenoch has become the first black woman to lead a major European political party.

Her cabinet selections will show in what direction she wants to take the party, as the conservatives try to recover from the defeat in the last election.

In her victory speech on Saturday, Badenoch acknowledged that her party has a lot of work to do and that it needs to be honest about the mistakes it has made.

"The time has come to tell the truth, speak up for our principles, plan for the future, reinvent policy and thinking, and give our state party the fresh start it deserves." ".

According to her, the current Labor Government "will fail", because "they are repeating many of our mistakes in this broken system".

The next election in Britain should be held in 2029./REL
