The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic, will hold separate meetings with the new head of diplomacy of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, on December 3.
Separate meetings in Brussels will not take place within the dialogue for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, a process mediated by the European Union.
Kallas' separate meetings with Kurti and Vu?i? were confirmed by EU foreign policy spokeswoman Anita Hipper.
Kallas is the new head of the EU's foreign and security policy and along with the rest of the EC commissioners started their mandate on December 1.
In a press conference on December 2, Hipper answered questions related to the attack on the Ibër-Lepenci canal on December 29 and the future of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
She reiterated the position that the EU expressed a day after the attack in Varraghe by Zubin Potok, describing the attack as a terrorist attack against Kosovo's critical infrastructure, and invited everyone to cooperate with the Kosovo authorities to find the perpetrators of the attack and that they face justice.
Regarding the meetings that Kallas will hold in Brussels, Hipper clarified that they will not be part of the dialogue.
Kallas now, after receiving the mandate, must decide how to continue with the dialogue process, which started in 2011.
In Brussels, Kurti and Vucic will also hold separate meetings with the new president of the European Council, Antonio Costa. Later they will attend an informal dinner that Costa will organize with all the leaders of the Western Balkans region.
In recent days, Kurti and Vucic have exchanged accusations about the attack on Zubin Potok. Kosovo blames Serbia for the attack on the Ibër-Lepenci water channel. Serbia denies being behind the attack and has said it has launched its own investigations into the case.
Kosovo authorities have so far arrested several people suspected of this case and seized weapons and other military equipment during operations in the north of Kosovo, inhabited by a majority of Serbs.
The attack took place in the village of Varragë in the municipality of Zubin Potok - a municipality with a Serbian majority in the north of the country.
The Kosovo Police said that the attack was carried out with explosives weighing up to 20 kilograms.
The Ibër-Lepenc Canal supplies water from Lake Ujman to the entire north of Kosovo, the regions of Mitrovica, Pristina and its surroundings, as well as the Kosovo Energy Corporation for cooling its thermal power plants.
The attack in Zubin Potok has been strongly condemned by the international factor./ REL
