The south of Turkey is hit by a 5.2-magnitude earthquake/ 23 people are injured

At least 23 people have been injured in the south of Turkey, as a result of a 5.2 magnitude earthquake.

This earthquake was reported about six months after two large destructive earthquakes in this region.

The center for observing earthquakes, Kandili, has reported that the earthquake occurred on Thursday evening.

The Turkish Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, said on Thursday evening that the injuries were caused by residents jumping from high floors. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Malatja province.

This province was also affected by the February 6 earthquakes.

More than 50,000 people have been reported dead as a result of major tremors in southeastern Turkey and northern Syria./ CNA
